The unheralded life of a Film Composer is a very isolating field that requires countless hours, and a long list of cues to deliver in short deadlines. Bobby Johnston's studio made a comfortable place to create music while housing his endless collection of acoustic instruments. It was enlightening to learn how a film score is made from watching the film many times, to developing themes, to layering the instruments until the music felt just right to enhance the movie. I have a new appreciation for their role which is essential to heightening the movie goers experience, and for Bobby Johnston’s unique take on the craft whereby he composes solely using acoustic instruments.
